Israel–Taiwan PenPal & Collaborative Education Program

Executive Summary

The Israel–Taiwan PenPal and Collaborative Education Program connects students and educators across borders to foster cross-cultural understanding, global competence, and innovative teaching practices. By leveraging EdTech solutions, regular exchanges, and shared learning projects, the program aims to build a vibrant international community of practice for teachers and establish long-term sister school partnerships between participating institutions in Israel and Taiwan.

Core Objectives

  1. Sister School Partnerships: Establish lasting bilateral institutional relationships through structured, ongoing collaboration.

  2. Curriculum Innovation: Enhance educators’ capacity to design and deliver engaging international education programs.

  3. Professional Collaboration: Empower teachers to co-create instructional strategies and share best practices across borders.

  4. Student Connection: Build meaningful international peer relationships through dynamic digital platforms, traditional correspondence, and educational visits.

Program Framework & Curriculum

1. Curriculum Theme: Animal Protection

Participating classes center their joint projects around Animal Protection, exploring seven core topics:

  • Animal Life Care

  • Animal Welfare and Protection

  • Veterinary Medicine and Illness

  • Animal Nutrition and Health

  • Pet Cleaning and Grooming

  • Animal Product Marketing

  • Animal Behavior and Training

2. EdTech & Digital Integration

To facilitate interactive collaborative learning:

  • Teachers and students utilize specialized EdTech platforms for curriculum design and material development.

  • Students engage with interactive 3D learning materials to showcase project outcomes and interact with peer classes.

  • Hardware Requirements: Participating schools must be equipped with computers or tablet devices capable of running the designated EdTech software.

  • Training: Comprehensive EdTech platform training is provided to teachers after initial school matchmaking.

Implementation & Requirements

  • Target Participants: Public and private primary, secondary, and high schools across Israel and Taiwan (including major municipalities such as Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Yilan).

  • Language of Communication: English serves as the primary medium for all interactions and instruction.

  • Interaction Frequency: Schools are required to maintain active collaboration at least 4 times per semester (minimum 8 times per academic year).

  • Communication Channels: Mutual engagement takes place through emails, postal correspondence, EdTech/digital platforms, and educational exchange visits.

  • Ministry of Education (Israel)

  • Ministry of Environmental Protection (Israel)

  • Education Department of several city governments in Taiwan

  • Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Tel Aviv

  • Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (ISECO)

與全球一起關注永續發展相關議題

進行方式: 視訊 + 同步/非同步線上討論

  • 視訊#1 – 十月 / 十一月 : 雙邊學生自我介紹,分享以色列/臺灣的風土民情
  • 視訊#2 – 十二月 / 一月 為何永續發展議題(如環境保育/動育保育/糧食議題等)如此重要?
  • 視訊#3 – 三月 / 四月 彼此分享臺灣和以色列如何做永續發展
  • 視訊#4 – 五月 雙邊學生總結交流成果

參與班級-5~9年級
英文老師和班級老師帶領學生團隊。

老師和學生也可以增加新的交流主題,例如:

  1. 氣候變遷與自然災害的關係(亞馬遜森林大火) / 對物種多樣性的影響 (野生蜜蜂)。
  2. 敦促保育動物的國際行動 (CITES 公約)。
  3. 瀕危物種 – 危險因素, 預防和保育行動。
  4. 動物生存面積減少; 人類行為, 野生動物入侵人類居住地 (豺狼, 野豬)。
  5. 救援故事 – 照顧受傷動物後釋放到野外 (老鷹, 海龜)。
  6. 動物權利/ 虐待動物會觸犯的法律 。
  7. 人類有義務負起動物的福祉。
  8. 分享學生飼養的動物 (情感連結 -學生分享他們與寵物的故事)。
  9. 其他雙邊有興趣的主題

台灣以色列線上共學計畫成果分享 :
每年台以雙邊總計80~100所學校參與此計畫,
對雙邊皆是與他國規模最大的教育合作

主辦方:參與縣市教育局/處、駐台北以色列經濟文化辦事處、以色列教育部
執行及協辦方:以色列教育部、TXI (台灣以色列合作中心)、EON Center (頤恩萬國教育中心)
執行方式:先進行雙邊班級媒合、定出一個主題讓雙邊班級進行討論共學、雙邊班級每學期需至少視訊2次(依照師生意願自由增加交流次數)。
獎助金:期末可遞送交流成果報告參與評選(自由參加),本計畫將提供獎助金給評選交流優良的老師。
